There's a huge difference between what people think in how the world works, and how it really does. That goes both ways. A leader of a nation, a head of state, the richest person in the world can believe that he/she rules without any limits - but a lone rebel can take it all away with one shot, one stab to the heart, or just by being nearby while infected with a lethal disease. In the same prison of thought, a slave also believes in a status quo that has no permanency, unaware in their mind that all they need to resist is to say a single word "No". The only truly free individuals are those who know what the artificial rules are, and absolutely refuse to accept any of those rules as anything more than play-acting. Such a free mind is sheer terror to all governments, all rich men, to all aristocrats, to all religions, for they can stand unrecognised in plain sight and have the power to topple an entire civilisation simply because they fully see the illusion for what it is.
