The Fairy Tree

A very common belief, in Ireland especially, is that a lone tree in the middle of a field that has grown without the support of a hedge etc (particularly a blackthorn tree) must be a fairy tree. You'll see them in fields all over the country because farmers won't cut them down. There are stories galore of the ill-luck that follows a farmer chopping down a fairy tree. Ones that grow on a hill are particularly special. (I'm afraid to put colour to this right now in case I destroy it!)

The Other Half

Inspired by the picture Eomer and Lothiriel by Hope Hoover but without any of the connections to Lord of the Rings. The characters are original.
