Ursatritaurian

Good pal Jeffrey Bennett, asked for a creature to use in a story involving gladiatorial combat on an alien world. He also mentioned they might use gene splicing to produce hybrid species, and after thinking it over a bit, this different looking fellow is who fell out of my head. His name is pronounced “ur-suh-try-TAR-ee-un”… a combination of ursa – for bear; tri – from triceratops, and three; and taurian – from centaur, as well as for bull, and even evocative of saurian. Here, he stands before that split in the mountain called "The Eye of Banandor", long said to bless with great fighting skill all warriors who would practice their martial arts before its gaze.
