She was one of the dryads who were bathing in the river with Artemis when Actaeon appeared (see my Artemis pic). She had seen him before in the forest, and had secretly loved him. Indeed, Actaeon's appearance tonight was a pleasant surprise to her. But she could not stop the events that followed. After all, she was just a nymph and Artemis was a goddess.
Now it's dawn, Actaeon is dead, and she has returned to the river, to exactly the same spot where she was standing when she saw him for the last time.

This was actually my first computer painting. I started this some 5 years ago, but did not finish it then. So I now made this smaller, cut down version (the original had other characters in the background).
