Osiris

I was recently surfing elfwood when I came across several wonderful pieces based on mythological gods and goddesses. So, I was thrown into a sudden need to draw. I wrote down a list of gods and goddesses that I would like to illustrate, and Osiris just happens to be the first one that I have gotten done. A little history on Osiris: he's known as the Lord of the Dead and is patron of the Underworld, the dead, the past pharaohs, agriculture, and male fertility. I had originally intended to color this guy, but he turned out so well in pencil that I did not dare to add color. Nevertheless, I think he turned out fairly well. He is wearing the atef crown, typically a symbol of egyptian religious rituals. I took the staff from the creator god Ptah... just because Osiris needed something to hold. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this undead god as much I enjoyed drawing him. Done in good old #2 pencil.
