This is Tala she is a one of the many Philippine godesses which i didnt know about until recently when i did a research in the internet. Its really funny i know a lot about greek and roman gods and goddesses and myths and some other international deities but very few about my own country's myths and legends. I was researching the net for ideas on my next project for elfwood when i decided to research local tales.Tthat's when i discovered the numbers of gods and goddesses that the philippines have that i didnt know about. most of these deities' stories and origin are unknown probably because their stories have vanish with the introduction of christianity to the country by the spaniards some long time ago.Anyway i wanted to introduce this deities to the world and to myself as well that's why i decided to do this project.well, enough of that, let's go to this goddess right here. This is Tala.from what i gather she is a demi god or godess.A daughter of Bathala and a mortal woman. Her siblings are Apolaki who was appointed guardian of the sun and god of war, and Mayari who was appointed goddess of the moon.Tala was given the element of light (just like Mayari)and apppointed guardian of the stars. Tala actually means Star (a big bright star to be exact: just wanna share :P) watercolor with color pencils on watercolor paper.
