Oh, how I long to fly! Way up above the clouds with the flying horses! I see them everyday and they jeer as they soar by and I call out to them. "Take me with you! Teach me what you know! Let me fly with you!" But they don't hear my desperate pleas. I race across the ground, fast as my legs will take me, but I am no match for their speed. Heart racing, lungs burning, legs aching, I try harder. I see the edge ahead, but I am going too fast to stop. I keep running, racing toward it. I close my eyes, hold my breath... and leap. I am flying! My mane whips around me, the wind stinging my eyes. I continue my daring dive towards the ground, knowing that I can pull out of it in time. They are looking at me, the flying horses, amazement in their eyes. I have done it! The ground keeps coming faster, and I open my wings... but they aren't there. They were never there. Again I look at them as they glide along. Seeing the sorrow in their eyes.
