Character Design Challenge Stempter 2016

I have been a part of a Character Design Challenge group on Facebook for months but never participated, so I decided it was high time I did. This months theme was Centaur, and I knew going in I wanted to do a non-western centaur. After much research, I decided to pull my inspiration from the Himba People of Central Africa who put red ochre paste on on their skin and hair. And the animal I chose the Okapi, just because it was different! I don't think I got quite the right skin tone, I started with too light of a local colour, but I am pretty happy with this piece. I really made me be more creative than I have been lately. I rushed it a little because I started a week before the deadline, thus no background, sorry!
