The Eydis

'07This is a character I've been drawing for a few years, but I wonder if she'll ever become anything other than my 'daughter of paper', AKA, the figure I use to test out new ideas and concepts.  This version is not quite finished, I have to finish up the right-side pillars and add some detail to the floor and the bronze statue in the back.  But it's very, very close, and I think the idea gets across.Drawn with mechanical pencil, then traced with ink, scanned at a huge resolution.  The lines around the character are the original hand-drawn lineart, the rest was done with photoshop. The pillars were created with paths, it would have been nearly impossible otherwise. The shading is an experimental cut and grad style, and I can't decide if I like it or not.  It took a long time because I'm not used to working that way.Process may be found here.
