This is a song written about an annual event our Local Society for Creative Anachronism group holds every year with another group. Some of the images may seem a bit strange, but for SCAers, it should make sense. Email me if you need explanations.
This is in the form of the Icelandic Edda, a 13th Century collection of poems. It's somewhat difficult to read because it doesn't follow modern conventions. The lines don't end with rhymes. Instead the lines are based on alliteration, similar sounds of at least 2 or more per line. There is a set rhythm, but the verses vary in length. I don't expect many folks to read this, because it's kind of difficult and kind of long, but I had a fun challenge in writing it.
Okay, something a little different from my poetry. This is a book I'm writing for pre-teens. It's fantasy, so please bear through the first couple of chapters that are establishing character. Hmmm....noticed that the two html switches fouled up some of the paragraphs.....I may fix them later.
