This is a map of the nice tropical semi-arid islands of the Solnhoffen archipelago in the very late Jurassic. It's a wonderful collection of mainly small islands populated by Archaeopteryx lithographica, compsognathus longipes, Rhamphorhynchus meunsterii, and scores of other intriguing critters indigenous to the late Jurassic. There are no large animals aside from migrating early pterodactyloids, and the very rare visiting Eustreptospondylus from the neighboring archipelago, and the sea reptiles. V'lolden took to the habit of ascribing names to the various islands. He drew heavily from classic sci-fi for his names. The latest ones added are the 'Jurassic Park' island names. If you look closely you will notice that I made the island system resemble the outline of an archaeopteryx. It's another of my most favorite dinosaurs.
