''New discoveries are made on a steady basis when it comes to the Gryphons, a branch of animals once thought to be based only on bird-of-prey and feline halves. As scientists grow evermore curious these fantastic creatures have been found to to inhabit almost any corner of the world. From the 'original' mountain dwelling eagle-headed gryphon, to the fish eating penguin-bear cross in the Antarctic, these sturdy beasts are showing off more diversity than we could ever hope for! See for instance this gull-and-canine based beauty, as adapt at hunting fish as scavenging. '' So, the boyfriend and I spend a wast majority of the other day at a medieval fair, for which I am a sucker, and while the fresh air and warm sun would be considered healthy, it nurtured little germs in my system, spawning a sore throat, muscles and general sickness. My boyfriend will debate that the soreness is from all the walking we did, but I coughed in his general direction until he agreed with me. Heh! As a poor couch-ridden individual I spend the day watching various documentaries and drinking tea, until the skies turned dark and my pained head told me to go to bed. Instead I doodled with nothing particular in mind, just aiming on a random 'I-am-sick' doodle. Lo and behold! A gryphon! A fish-munching fox/canine cross gryphon! And what a pretty fella he is. Initially I wanted to pencil-sketch and then add colors quickly, hoping for a sort of 'in the field' feel but as I often goes I got caught up in the details and soon added to the shadows and whatnot, getting slightly lazy towards the end, and smearing a great deal with my hand. Whoopsie! I tossed on a parchment layer in Photoshop (from an ImagineFX cd), and came up with a silly little text to go with him, heh! I also rediscovered my love for gryphons. So many possibilities! Anyway, enjoy my 'couch' doodle.
