So it's been a while, but we left Naru meeting up with a great group of angels who, politely put, can kick her butt.
This is the first part of a either a novella or a really long short story. It started as a challenge issued by a friend to write something influenced by anime/ comic books and dealing with the elements, and make each section a story that could, with minimal alterations, stand on its own while remaining under 2000 words. More will be coming, I promise.
Was in a sociology class and assigned a progect dealing with kids who have been abused- the effects on their lives, etc. It really touched me, and I was inspired. This is one of my darkest pieces.
Now in New Orleans, the Knights and Naru meet up with one of Naru's old friends and end up in a strange part of town...
The third part. I should probably make a clarification- Slag controls metal, and metal includes all elemental earth(stone, dirt, etc).
Ember was so popular that I decided to do another fairy tale rewrite- this time, based on the story of the frog prince. See the resemblance? I know, I know, a lot of people are going to say they want more back story, but since I don't plan on doing more, then I'm just going to apologize in advance for it.
The fifth part of the elemental series... Finally, two of the characters meet up and we draw closer to seeing all four in one place at one time... hopefully.
All righty, so they finally meet up and have their appropriately vague and creepy instructions. I know it's been a while, but hopefully everyone remembers what's been going on.
The second part, as promised. In case you're wondering, the elements are light, dark (part I), wind, water (part II), fire, metal (part III),plant, animal (part IV), life, death (TBA).
My part in a trade with Katherine Burt- she wrote a story based on the character in 'Not Worth It'. She has a story in progress dealing with a pirate group called the Amazons and I was honored to write the prequel to the story- when Kanlira and Rose first meet. Parts of this might be funnier if you read the chapters she's got posted first.
So we left Narush'kai at the none too tender mercies of Arkael, a seraphim. Now she wakes up in the Golden City, ready to break herself free. Unfortunately, the angels have other ideas...
After spending quality time with the angels, Naru and company head off to Hong Kong...
Argh! This took forever to pare down to under 2000 words. At least it's done... Enjoy.
A rewrite of Cinderella, using the fae courts of summer (seelie) and winter (unseelie). See any mistakes with the faery references? Feel free to point them out.
The first half of chapter one- it's a bit long, but well worth the read, in my humble opinion. Now the prologue might make more sense. Or not. Heh, heh, heh...
Caught by demons, Naru and her friends are finding themselves steered back towards the one place they didn't want to go...
A collaborative effort with Elfwood writer A lot of fun characters and a challenging bit of writing. These are two possible prologues that I considered using for the beginning- I'm curious which one readers prefer. It might help to read the story before choosing, but then again... Maybe not.
