hor defends Asgard from invading frost giants (not shown). This is my entry for *Dianae's 'Gods, Goddesses and Mythology' competition. It took me ages to decide what to do, because there's just so much choice, and it's a subject that's always fascinated me. I settled on Thor, because he was always my favourite Norse god as a kid, and I decided to try to get away from the more popular blonde haired / winged helmet look that Marvel gave him. Strongest of the Aesir, he is described in mythology as 'flame haired', and drives a chariot pulled by goats. This is my first piccie with Apollo Maximus, and I do quite like him! I looked at a a lot of classical paintings while I was getting ready to do this, and tried to mimic the lighting. I'm not sure how well I succeeded in that, but it was fun trying! Credits Apollo Maximus figure and clothes by Ultimate Hair by HMann Long horn sheep (yes, I realise they're supposed to be goats, but I didn't have any!) from Content Paradise Fairytale castle from Daz Chariot body and hammer by me. The rest of the chariot (axle / wheels / harness bits) I made by disassembling a covered wagon and a rocking chair in Carrara... Poser 7 / Vue 6 Esprit / Painter 8 / Photoshop CS3
