Hi! I am a 54 year old man who dabbles in writing and illustating Science fiction fantasy stories and working on a graphic novel. I have work here from over six years ago to present. The stuff from my first year here is really bad so you won't find it here anymore. Each year I get a little better. I think you can probably tell which of these illustrations are more recent. I'm hoping that if I keep working on my writing and drawing, Some day I will get published.
I’ve been buying and reading comic books and reprints of old illustrated pulp magazines from the 30's and 40's lately. I really don't care much for Magna so I concentrate mainly on western style. I love the realism they bring to the fantastic stories I like to read in a way that magna just falls short in. I of course still love the works of the great artists that first introduced me to the worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E Howard and all of those writers inspired by their works. Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo and the so many of the others I grew up wowing over inspiring me to read traveling back in time to a land of dinosaurs or across the galaxy to lands of high adventure.
King Kong 2005 version
The Time Machine 2002 version
The Lord of the Rings
Anything with stone age women, dinosaurs or Ice Age megabeasts in it.
Edgar Rice Burroughs novels
The Runestaff and Elric series by Moorcock
Lin Carters, Green Star, Earths Core, Jandar or Thugar series.
Robert E Howard's, Lin Carter's, and Robert Jordan's and so many others who write Conan Stories. Actually, there's a really good illustrated Conan novel, written by Andrew J. Offutt and Illustrated by Esteban Maroto, that I'd have to include on that list.
Additionally I've started reading reprints of old illustrated pulp magazines from the 30's and 40's.
The Mama's and Papa's
Simon and Garfunkel
and so many others that bring back memories of old
