Bast and Friend

This is a depiction of a friend's Kemetic name, which has a double-meaning. The name translates roughly as 'sent forth by Bast', but can also be read as 'she who sends Bast forth'. In order to depict this, I decided to draw Bast in both her anthropomorphic form and her cat form, with her servant in the middle, a scroll being passed between them. I sent my friend a preliminary sketch, after which she sent me a photo of her face. So, I had to paste a little piece of paper over the first face I drew and redo it. This caused problems with the second scan, so her hair looks a little funky. Bast's headdress is a figment of my imagination and looks vaguely Stargate-ish, but I guess it's okay. Don't ask me why the goddess is wearing sequins- She just didn't want to look plain! Her height is a bit dubious- since I have my friend kneeling in front of Her you can't see Her feet and it looks a little like she's been cut off at the ankles. I'll just write that off by saying the girl is kneeling on a small platform. :P
