Lovers, torn apart by war between their people...she knew if his people found he was still seeing her -meeting in the night, brief moments, swift embraces and heart breaking brushesof their lips, destined to one day end- that he would be killed...so on the day of battle, when the castle was stormed, she wore the colors of her people and waited....he battled long and heard, always watching for the lovely maiden in the dress of rose red, but only saw the men and women in the whites and sky blues...a woman behind him, sneaking up, he swung around to defend himself, burying his sword deep within the witch...and soon he realized his grievious error...she fell to her kness, her dress staining with her own blood, the red dress returning, and she looked up to him and smiled, mouthing the words he heard every night, and he knew what she had done for him...he withdrew his sword, his soldiers cheering as he had taken down the last of the enemies...she had given her life in order for him to live on...destroy the evidence...he lifed her body, and ordered it buried, much to the confusion of the others...later that evening, he went out, never retunring to the camp...in the morning the troops storming a castle down the ways returned, to find all the other troops dead, murdered in their sleep...after some time, they found the leader, lying dead upon a grave with a simple wooden cross....the leader's body, and the girl's, who was dug up, were ordered taken to the kingdom and given a porper buriel there...from the diary entries left behind, the King and Queen learned of the love lost by the petty squabbling for land...the war was ended not long after, taking a great deal of convincing on both sides, but eventually working...they bodies were buried withing the royal grounds, beneath a statue of a weeping angel holding a sword that was wrapped around by a rose vine, and the plate upon the pillar read ' Love, that which conquers more than war, and never dies....May we all be forgiven for the sins we commit against Love, and pray that what we have desroyed can go on forever in a place much more beautiful than this we have created in our bloodshed...Weep tears of gold, breathe roses, warm hearts, and never deny Love. In memory of all Lovers, cursed by the hatred of others.'
