Nameless Elfgirl

'He watched as she climbed into the saddle, wondering if he would ever see her again. She was lovely. He was debating whether he should ask her name when her horse suddenly raised up, startled by a sharp sound. As she struggled to control her mount, the hood of her cloak fell down around her neck, letting loose her hair. He didn't notice her ears at first, the intense shade of her hair drew his attention. But his smile quickly faded as he saw. She's elvish! He stood silent, staring at her, until she returned his gaze. He breathed a sigh as she turned and galloped away, partly in relief of her leaving, partly regretting his silence.'   I'm thinking of taking this one down... I had a basic outline sketch, the start of a drawing, in my sketch book. But it was too small and i couldn't seem to draw the girl's face in. So i re-drew it on a larger paper. But i don't like how the face came out (her features are too small) but i colored it anyway (with actual colored pencils, my first attempt) added a background in photoshop and posted it. I'd only started the drawing as a tool for writing a story i had in my mind. I've started the story, but i haven't got much done yet. But it is about a human and an elf who come together in a time when the races were sworn enemies. And you can read what i have written of it here. I might attempt another go at it this drawing, since i have improved at faces since then.   Ref image: N/A Meduim: Mechanical Pencil, and Colored Pencil. Size: 8 x 11 in. Date: June 2000
