Water pony

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

Frogs were too stubborn, and tadpoles too absent-minded. Newts were too lazy, and water-beetles too flighty... so the waterfolk decided to breed their own ponies instead. Modelled after the pegasi, they gave them little fins at their hooves, instead of feathers, and proper fin thingies at each shoulder... and even if they weren't exactly the fastest or most practical of couriers, they did look quite pretty... :) ~ done in ball-point pens ~

The Dinkypoos

This was inspired by my dad, who went to work one day and came home with only one sock on... He insists that he remembered to wear both socks before going to work; and that he didn't take them off all day; and that he didn't go to the OT (operating theatre) that day either. How on earth he managed to keep both shoes on and lose one sock remains a mystery... or it did, until i discovered the culprits: the Dinkypoos! dinkypoo (din’ kee pú), n., pl. dinkypoos (din’ kee púz): An obscure race of creatures believed to be originally from some eastern land, possibly China. They are small creatures, most measuring no more than three feet off the ground. Generally, they have pointed ears and large, hairy feet; their faces are pale, often described in the old tales as being white with pink cheeks, and small black dots of eyes; they have pale blue tummies and green bottoms, though the last point is as yet unsubstantiated with proof, and is somewhat debatable. Shy and nocturnal, they usually live in caves, though cellars and old, unused closets have also been known to harbour these creatures. The main point to note about the Dinkypoos is their apparent fascination with socks; they will steal socks or stockings anywhere they can, and hoard them in their dens. It is also said, however, that they never steal a matching pair, but always only one side. Thus, they are often credited - or blamed - when odd socks are found in the laundry, or when socks are otherwise inexplicably found missing (my dad's case comes to mind here...) —taken from SiehYean's Guide to the Queer Folk Please respect my intellectual property... should you wish to use any of my poems, do email me to askf for permission. I'm generally a nice person, and I don't bite (not very much, at least. XD) Hope you enjoy it!
