Pseudozoology: Goblin (Homo gorgon)

The genus Homo is a widely branched family tree that spans continents and covers the time since it arose. Homo rudolphensis gave rise to the macropiths (currently referred to as Sasquatch, Bigfoot, Yeti, Momo, et cetera, confined to the category known as cryptozoology and snickered at by people who think that it is a pseudoscience), and eventually Homo habilis split into two branches himself: Homo gorgon (Goblins and common Forest Trolls) and his kin and what would eventually become Homo ergaster, or "working man." Homo ergaster then split off himself into the two groups that were most successful at society: the group that would bring forth the barely-gregarious ork species of Pseudohomo titanis and Pseudohomo ogrus, otherwise known as Giants, Mountain Trolls and Ogres, and Exohomo sentius, the war-like, actually sapient orcs; and the lineage that became ourselves, Homo sapiens and Homo regalis (elves, nymphs and immortals), the latter of which have been known to have long, pointy ears and live sometimes tremendously long lifespans. Most of what we know as myth has faded to such from the basis of what was once reality. Once we lose touch with the past, whether by neglect, negation, or through the successive generations which transfer culture but not necessarily memory, the perception of a history of events which may have at one point been reality get blurred. As such, it is important to pass on the knowledge that you dont know everything, and never will. Only by accepting that we know nothing can we learn anything.
