When I started conceptualizing this, it was as a faerie with a dragon companion. As I kept working, the faerie got darker and more wicked.... so the dragon got darker and more wicked.... This cycle repeated until the faerie fell away leaving a strong warrior in her wake, and a massive dragon. Technically, I wanted to creat a slick, sweat sheen look and used bump mapping higher than normal values to disrupt the high specular value. I didn't want things to feel 'plastic' but at the same time 'wet.' I think the result was pretty spot on. To create the dark environment, I used only a single mesh light, and paired that with the dragon's eye which was converted to be an additional mesh light. All in all, I'm pretty happy. Thanks for looking.
