This young lady's name is Alastiel (a name from the old Quenya "Maiden of Marble"). Alastiel belongs to the Half-Elven-Species. She once had a love, which dying was worth. But the thing is: Elves do not die.Her love was forced to leave her and fight in a war for the sake of the survival of the Elves. Alastiel deeply hurt but still full of hope, that he would return safe and alive, waited at the steps leading out of the town. She waited ages. Her immortality allowed her this uncountable amount of years of just sitting and waiting. But he did not return.Alastiel refused to move. Though she did not die, her hope left her... slowly and creepingly. Many years later Alastiel had turned into marble, hard and cold. Her life had seeped out of her with her hope. She had changed with the time into beatiful, white marble, unable to leave her post.Since then the marble statue of Alastiel waited unmovingly at the steps of her home town and reminded the in- and outgoing Elves and Men and other wandering species, that love did not end with time.
