This huntress apparently had luck on her foray into the ancient English forest, judging by the head of her foe impaled on the spear she carries. Inspired by the gothic lyrics to 'English Fire' by Cradle of Filth and also Emerson, Lake and Palmers rendition of the hymn 'Jerusalem' I always wanted to put tp paper a vision of ancient England. overshadowed by 'satanic windmills' as mentioned in Jerusalem. So I did this picture. Again this was an effort to contrast beauty and innocence with gore and suggestions of a violent nature - and those dark windmills that stand like doom above the forest really lend a dark touch to such a beautiful countryside. My love for England - the land of my father - is still strong, so once in a while this is a source of inspiration for me. Pencils only.
