My first effort at creating a decent watercolour. The result is so-so, the only thing I really like about it is the brightness and radiance of the colours. Otherwise, it is rather sloppy and I almost gave up on watercolours alltogether after this one. The subject of the picture is very similar to a pencil drawing I did much later called "Homeward Bound" though this time the wizard is travelling away from his tower and out into the great world of sword and sorcery. The look of the wizard was inspired by Tolkien's/Howe's Gandalf, although it's not supposed to be him. As you might have noticed during your visit to my gallery, I am fascinated with fantasy landscapes. After all, you first need a strange and/or beautiful setting for any fantasy tale.
