Unut is the Hare headed Egyptian Goddess, about whom very little is actually known. She was called "The Swift One" and had originally been a snake goddess but for some reason was adapted as a hare later on, hense the black mamba in the picture. I decided to use that species fo snake, because they're an African species that are one of the fastest in the world. "The Swift One". Unut was worshipped alongside Thoth, which is why the inclusion of the sacred baboon there. One of my own pet rabbits, a hotot mix, is named after this goddess, except that we discovered later she was really a he! But the name stuck, and few people know it's actually a feminine name anyway. ;) Here's a baby picture of him. I wish we knew more about this goddess, as snakes and rabbits are the critters I'm most fond of keeping as a pet owner. That they're combined in this ancient goddess intrigues me.
