The genesis of this character was rather boring I'm afraid. Someone else drew a really neat centaur, and then I wanted to draw a really neat centaur, but in true Sarah Taylor fashion, I added wings. I want him to become a character in the metaphor universe I have, but I don't really know how yet. Sooner or later there'll be a need for a blindingly blue and green winged centaur and he'll be like "Ohhh! Ohhh! Pick me!" So I'll just wait and avoid shoehorning him into any places he really shouldn't be. I know he's a really good climber and glider though (wings are too itsy bitsy to fly).Done in Photoshop over way too long a time, there were three different backgrounds I made that all failed miserably before I got to this one. Serves me right for making the character before the background. Backgrounds should always be planned first. The sketch was really fun, and I like how it turned out for the most part. I'm still experimenting with digital methods of creating art and so far most don't feel "right" to me yet. Unfortunately this was not one that was right, though it came out well enough. There's something off about the picture and I don't quite know what it is. Hopefully I'll figure it out in the future, otherwise I'll rejoice in the fact that winged centaurs on jade mountains are pretty darn cool.Ahaha, I also just realized that I was subconciously influenced by the color scheme of Captain Planet! Man, I loved that show.
