The Lady and the Moth

**A rustling noise makes her turn suddenly from her perch, her eyes scanning the green foliage. Then something burst out of the leaves and she yelped in surprise, her sandal falling off her foot as she jerked and covered her face defensively. "Oh, I'm sorry..." A sincere masculine voice spoke, softly, and she slowly dropped her arm, meeting the gaze of a young male moth. Her hand dropped to her side as she watched him bend down and begin to gently fold back the clover leaves that circled around his feet before he rose again, with her small sandal clasped firmly in his hand."I didn't mean to frighten you." He said as he stared up at her. She couldn't help herself and stared, her tongue stuck to the roof of her mouth as if covered in honey. For the first time in her life her heart danced in her chest... but certainly no longer from fright.**Ahh, I was inspired to draw a lady bug fairy and a moth. Why? Well, it's that sort of forbidden love. I also had a moth sitting by my desk for a couple days, just chilling there, and the lady bugs are coming out now. They demanded foliage too. Naturally. I enjoyed working on this though, and think they make a lovely pair despite their differences.A week, off and on. Mechanical pencil and paper. Thanks for looking!©2009 Jennifer McPherson. Do not use.
