There are some really cute clouded leopards at the Nashville zoo, and I just felt like drawing them, of course I couldn't leave it at that. Since the clouded leopard's natural habitat is Indonesia and Southeast Asia, I thought the perfect thing to throw in there would be a little dragon. I know the dragon/cat thing is way overdone, but it's almost always large dragons in a position of power, and majestic tigers in a state of near equality with the dragons, this is obviously not the case here. When learning about the leopards, I discovered they have unusual canines for a cat, thought to be used for taking down prey such as deer and wild pigs (a task for the cat since large males only get to about 50 lbs), but who knows, maybe they have those teeth for cracking open dragon scales? They also hang upside down from tree tops by their hind legs, and they climb down trees head first; maybe they learned these skills by watching dragons? Or chasing them?
