This is a character of mine in one of her incarnations. She started out as an NPC. Little more than a plot device with a name. She was just supposed to show up, have a vision that would unite the party, and point them in the right direction. Alis had other plans. She came to the front of my mind, and I began to speak the words she wanted to say before really thinking about them. She acted quickly, intelligently, and with great courage. She united the party by telling them of her vision, but would not be sent back to oblivion. She stood beside them, fought beside them, and joined them in their quest. Despite being given very little to work with, she proved invaluable and soon I had to admit, the game would not be the same without her. She deserved a place in it. Alis is now on a mission to save her adopted people (the half-orcs) from a diease affecting their children. She is working to bring down negative stereotypes and to battle racism and descrimination while she searches for a cure. My little plot device has found her calling.
