Waiting for Words

'It was the last time this season that I would be able to talk to her . . . tomorrow she would go back to her own people and I ran the risk of never seeing her again. I wanted to say what we were both thinking, and I could tell by the way she pretended to watch a hawk riding the thermals that she was waiting for me to do so, but I hadn't yet found the courage, let alone the words.' I drew this for my schools literary magazine, so they're not really any specific characters despite the fact that I used my facial design for Jerry (because I find him easy to draw) and the character design for Rael. I did the outlines in ink and shaded with pencil.
