They were very nice, and waited for me to sprint home for my camera to get some shots of their gorgeous raptors. Did you know that to do falconry in the US, you first have to apprentice for two years under a licensed mentor, and trap your first hawk from the wild? Usually if you trap one, it means it was starving enough to take the bait (a healthy one won't touch it), so they give it a second lease on life by trapping and training it to hunt for a year. It's an intense hobby.Anyway, it was all so cool, I had to paint a medieval-type lady with her hawk.
