Insane Insectoid Hatter

This is my contribution to the Bifrost project "Mad Hatters on Parade". She is an alien scientist designing a human "mind control hat".  Unfortunately for her living as she does in a homone directed and hive based society, human beings have concepts of personal ownership that make it unlikely for a human to pick up a hat and put it on just because it happens to have been left in the right place (she hasn't thought of putting it in a hat shop).  She is puzzled by this because she thinks the reason it doesn't work is because she has the scent wrong and she is working hard on making it smell exactly like the other human "hats" she has found. She doesn't exactly have a name because in her society she would rarely appear out of a particular "context" in which her scent would identify her but if, for example you were to ask another of her species who made this hat and she wasn't in sight to point at, they would indicate her identity by stepping their forelegs twice to the right, five times to the left, walking once in a figure eight and then emitting the precise dosage of hormone that would indicate her rank relative to the individual you wer speaking to. In reality of course you would fail to emit the correct recognition hormone and have your head snipped off. Derwent pencils, sugar paper collage and The GIMP.

Troll Phone

You can see young people at night from a long way away by the light emitted by their mobile phones, I've always thought that was risky behaviour.
