Rhiannon

This is Rhiannon from Welsh Mythology. I was inspired to do this after seeing a painting of her by Allen Lee (who is my favorite artist by the way. Him and Leonardo da Vinci of course) and reading some about her. This is kind of a depiction of how she looked when she was first seen by her future husband, Pwyll. She was spotted on a big white horse, clad in white and gold brocaded silk. Also, she's often associated with horses...enough so that she's sometimes confused with the horse goddess, Epona. She had magical birds that were said to wake the dead and lull the living to sleep, hence the bird in her hands. I did this a couple years back and sent it into an art contest....still no results from the contest that I've heard of....oh well.
