What do you do when your stressed out from school, and your computer is moving will all the speed of frozen molasses? Simple: illustrate your stories! My computer was taking forever to render, so I did al illustration of the first time my two main characters meet in a little story I play with just for fun. Thus far, the story has no title. It's a bit of a parody on contemporary vampire stories: we have the usual vampire/human romance, but the vampire looks like the walking corpse of mythology, not the beautiful vampires of pop fiction. In this scene, from the opening chapter, Aly meets Lin (the vampire) at a small-town community Halloween party. Lin's a nice, laid-back guy several centuries old; Aly is a sweet, accepting girl of thirteen. A conversation up in the bleachers is the start of many years of friendship, and eventually romance. This is the first draft. I'm still deciding if I want to colour it on the computer or with coloured pencil. I'm also not thrilled with Lin's face. I wanted to go with an anime-style, but I'm having a hard time incoporating that into the walking-dead concept. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!
