A Greater Joy Than Flight

This fairy is the very fist completed work I ever did by scanning a pencil sketch and painting it digitally. Also, this picture was an exercise in background for me as well. I usually don't do much of a background, so this work was my attempt at creating a detailed background (how did I do?). The inspiration for this comes from my misguided wish to learn ballet (I tried; Swan Lake doesn't need a flopping do-do like me :-)...the image of a fairy dancing on a mushroom popped in my head one night, and I immediately sketched it. Drawn on paper, painted in Paint Shop Pro, Winter 2000. Severely shrunk from original, which was 2619 x 4500 pixels.

Writing Excersize - Dathril

A writing excersize I created a while back, complete with instructions if you'd like to try it yourself, as well as the writing I produced using the excersize. :-)

Lady Greensleeves (Prologue)

This is the prologue to a novel I've had in mind for quite some time now; you can read the basic synopsis of the story here if you like, so you'll actually have some idea where this is going. I'm a notoriously lazy procrastinator, so you may not see any further chapters of this for quite some time--but the chapters I do finish will be posted both here and my my own website as soon as they're done (I'm only planning on posting up to about chapter three or four, though, because if I can actually complete this thing, I'm going to submit it to publishers for possible publication--which obviously means I don't need to be posting the whole thing up for anyone and everyone with a modem to read:-). As a side-note, this story actually had its beginnings in a drawing I did, which can be seen in my Loth gallery here.

The Apple Tree

In a rustic and idillic land, an old man is obsessed with an apple tree in his front yard. He has tried for years to cut it down, but never succeeds, and his hatred for it grows year after year. Is this tree protected by devils or demons...or is it something else? What if the man succeedes...?
