Ayup, another troll. Another Shadowrun troll, even. Whatever; most people are tired of all this same subject matter, but apparently my muse is not! Did some character concepting the other day; wanted to make a tough street samurai sort of dude that had lots of body modification. Lots of nanotats and neat piercings. Lots of fun too. He's Scottish, which makes him even more awesome. I've determined that from now on, to the best of my ability I'm going to try to make an effort to draw every day. Doesn't have to be a complete picture every time, but every picture should have me practicing something I'm weak at, or something I have an aversion to. Take this for example: I used pencils I usually hate (my Prismacolors), and use nothing but those pencils. No mixed media like I'm used to doing (so no markers and no ink of any kind). I also used no references. Coloring faces is especially hard for me, so that was another part of the challenge. Came out fairly well, considering. I think I might do a series of these portraits featuring all kinds of body modification. Opinions, anybody? Pity the scanner hates Prismacolor pencils though. Been thinking of this guy's alias as Lochaber "Grinning Axe" and make him a character sheet.
