Normally one wants to avoid tangents in their art (lines that coexist with different lines, usually on different planes), but this experiment in abstract geometrical backgrounds made these tangents inadvertent but ultimately welcomed. They make a nice subtle echo of the figure himself. My boyfriend's medusa character Acriss. I like the dark, science-fiction feel of this piece, and for some reason it reminds me of Brom's work. I suppose this is a good thing, because Brom is one of my main artistic inspirations... I will let my art speak for me, so I'm going to cut this short. Done on off-white Strathmore heavyweight sketch paper using Prismacolor graphite pencils, Staedtler pigment liners, and a dying grey pen. Art is mine, the character belongs to my significant other.
