Based on the beautiful poem by Elfwood, artist, writer and friend, Rebecca Carr. I chose watercolour, as it seemed to suit the emotional and fluid nature of Rebecca's poem,(and it's her favorite medium!) It's the first purely watercolour painting, without pencil or ink, that I've done in over ten years. Crikey, I'm getting old! Read the remarkable poem here!

This is a short poem that I wrote in character and read as a eulogy at my character's Sister's funeral. I wept. The illustration shows Ria carrying the body of her sister, Nesti, out in daylight from the orc caverns in which they were imprisoned, and down into the safety of the grove below, which becomes Nesti's final resting place...
