After weeks of intense work, and working mostly with one arm, I have just completed my latest painting. Those of you who know me, know that for health reasons I don’t do paintings too often. But sometimes, the idea for a painting will strike you like a fever, it is so intense that it just has to come out, and will not let you rest until it is finished. This is one of those paintings. I have a few more works planned, but need a slight respite before I begin them, so be on the lookout for the new ones. And I shall keep you posted on the vampire story I have completed. Prints will be available in a week or two.I need to extend my most humble and sincerest of thanks to the following people. To Arty who tolerated my mood swings and whose calming spirit kept me from slashing this work to ribbons on more than one occasion. To Joe and Chris who gave me advice on different techniques to use, when I became stuck and stumped on how to approach certain aspects of this painting. And to Christy who allowed me to vent my frustrations during this work in progress. I sincerely say thank you to each one of you and all. This painting was originally for someone that I miss, and for the most part still is, but now I decided to dedicate it to all the lost souls out in the world, who have loved and lost, and lost loved ones that they held dear as I have. In memory of my: Pappa, father, mother, Nana, and one I cannot name, I miss you all and will see you soon. This work is acrylic on canvas using airbrush, brush, and sponge techniques. It is titled: THE FAY BORN & BROKEN To the Fay born: tu est dragoestea vietsi mele. And the story goes: He was of warrior class, Born into servitude, And sworn to protect. But he dared to love a daughter of the Fay, This angered the Gods and the fates, So they conspired against them, And snatched her away from his loving embrace. In his grief and rage he turned his back on the Gods, For this he was cast down, And cursed to wander the outer darkness, Mourning his lost love, The better part of himself, His other half in heart and soul.
