Hmm...someone walked in on Maul at the wrong time...though I can't imagine there ever being a right time. I worked really hard on this picture, and it still isn't right, which is why I'm showing this version. This is the post-line-art, pre-inking version. I'd just gone over the outlines in pen and was about to apply the large areas of black. But even though I spent about a day trying to ink this, it came out very poorly, which is dissapointing. I just didn't do Darth Maul and the area immediantly around him very well. The background looked okay though. It was just really difficult to figure out what to ink and what to leave black on a guy who's clothes are all very matte and very black. Ugh...there's so much empty space up top. In the inks, that was going to be mostly black...bugger. I might blue this, print it out, and try again some other time. Pencil and Pen on Bristol Board. Darth Maul (c) George Lucas, that sell-out.
