Tius turned to look back at the anxious crimson dragon, azure ocular narrowed, “We leave when the sun has sunken past the hills.” The anthropomorphic creature’s countenance was impassive, eyes scanning the wyrm’s visage, as if seeking hints to possible – and fatal – weakness.Horoth frowned nervously. An attack in the dark? His stunning emerald orbs gazed downward in an open display of doubt. He was reluctant to meet the eyes of his companion.Turning back with a nearly soundless and exasperated sigh, Tius extended an arm in the direction of the enemy’s camp. “The other warriors have them surrounded. We shall take to the air as a final surprise assault and cast fire down from the heavens.”Easy enough for you to say, Horoth thought grimly, you are not on the receiving ends of the humans’ ballistae and spears. Hesitantly, the wiser and more ancient beast allowed Tius to lead him to the bluff in which they would wait for the battle to commence.---- This is a picture I'm hoping will get selected to be hung on the school wall, all framed and fancied up. Took me a while (drawing, by mouse, each individual scale on that dragon, and then shading each...blargh...) I guess I'm fairly content with the outcome. The foliage is taken and manipulated from a photo of my yard. The deadline was too soon for me to actually work on it free hand. ):
