| From The Editor
They say the new year is a time for new beginnings.
Just who "they" are, I haven't figured out quite yet. Regardless, at Woodworks we tend to agree. That's why, as you probably noticed, we reside in our new home at www.woodworksezine.com. Much thanks goes out to Thomas for providing this for us, even if the user manual is in Swedish.
Also with the new year we have some new faces at Woodworks, and also some faces that won't be around (as much). A huge "Thank You" goes out to Georgette Tan and Kassandra Seigel, who are both stepping down from their duties as editors. Their leadership and hard work has been great over the past year. Of course, we'll get them here somehow.
That being said, this issue marks the one year anniversary of Woodworks. We've come a long way since the first issue, and we couldn't have done it without the support of all of you.
So, in concurrance, we decided to make this entire issue a celebration. Read about the history of the New Year, find out about Filk music, or just read one of our many reviews this month.
Here's to a great year!

A small grassroots anim/sci-fi convention in Troy, New York is asking for any artists who have drawings, paintings, sketches, or any other art form and want to have their art showed and/or auctioned off at the show. The convention will be running from January 24 to the 26. They are looking for any work relating to science fiction, anime, and fantasy (yes, ALL aspects are welcome). (More Info)
