Description

Meetup is a webservice that helps people coordinate local gatherings with others who share the same interests. Recently, Elfwood was added to the list of interests. While it might seem hard to create a local Elfwood group, Meetup makes the process incredibly easy.

The first thing you do is find a topic you're interested in - the Elfwood Meetup page is here. Then, sign up and create a basic profile for yourself, and include a nice little message about who you are. This will show up next to your name under the Attendees list.

Once you are signed up, you can chat with other attendees from your area, and vote on where to meet. Don't worry about setting a date. All Elfwood Meetups happen the third Saturday of each month, at 1 p.m. local time. After all the votes for location have been taken, you'll get an email telling you where the meetup is going to be.

All you have to do after that is show up! Bring your sketch pads, notebooks, camera, and (if your meetup is going to be large) nametag. After your meeting, share the experience! Meetup has a place to post pictures, add links, and provides a list of other popular Meetups that might be of interest to Elfwood members.

Don't be shy! Go out and Meetup!
