You shouldn't call your pictures ugly. They look pretty good to me. If yours are ugly, then what does that say about the rest of us? I know a real artist when I see one. No matter how good you get, it never seems good enough, I guess. I know the feeling.

22 Amorita L Malagon replies: "They're ugly, because I have had professional training, because I've drawn my entire life, because they should be much better than they are. So compared to what I am (artist wise) and what I could've been (artist wise) these are truly bad. I appreciate your comment though, and I want to point out that given different circumstances (and I mean more than just age) one artist cannot simply be compared to another. Since this gallery came up though (mere weeks ago -todays date 27SEP06) I have started to really draw again after being unpracticed and uncaring for almost five years now... Thank you again for stopping by."

yeah - the doubt of self worth that any decent artist has...

Personally, I've found that most artists who DO think they have something really special tend to be the one so high up in their self made towers of delusion -they think they can do ANYTHING and be excellent at it... which for that sort of person, usually is pretty far from the truth.
I'll be really honest with you - I like your work, I would like to see more drawing work really... like your comments ssiad on my gallery... lines should be free.
However difficult and irritating you find getting your work 'right' as you see it (and belive me, it IS actually a small miracle that my PC is still in one peice - I don't get on with technology all the time) you should always remember...

even a massive journey begins with the a small step.

12 Amorita L Malagon replies: "yes, a few small steps, then that humiliating fall on yer bum... It's nice to be back on my feet though I have yet to get my bearings!"

Your pictures don't suck. Congrats to Jason for convincing you to put them on. You can really tell the sailors influence in your art style, kind of sea-faring men. Great stuff.
Listen to the good criticism and advice, don't let any mean words sway you from what you're doing, and then add it to your own style.

14 Amorita L Malagon replies: "Wait till I really get started on those sailors... thanks for visiting... As for style, I'm sure there will be a marked change in my style just from abandoning my art for so long..."

I promised to visit your gallery and, well, here I am! 2 And now I'll have a look at your pics...

1 Amorita L Malagon replies: "Thanks for visiting Bianca! I hope you weren't too bored..."

Oh my goodness! Thank you SO much for all of your comments and feedback! I can't express how much it cheered my butt up tonight! >_> Wow that's disgusting. Backtrack....THANKS!!

14 Amorita L Malagon replies: "It's good because one's butt shouldn't frown...But seriously, if you are reading this and are expecting to see good art, spare yourself some time and don't bother going through mine, go to Miss Lia Angelene Tomco's gallery instead. "

You have some very interesting characters. I love the whole revolutionary malitia look to the uniforms and the way you use color.

Thank you so much for visting my gallery. I really appreciate your comment!

1 Amorita L Malagon replies: "That's from a lifetime of institutionalization. I grew up on a military base and only felt at home when I left for boot camp... (pretty sad, really)"

It's not often that I get such a generous response from a fellow artist. I had to return and say Thank You once again.

Also, I will check in often for updates but feel free to drop me a note when you do. I would love to see more of your work!
