At dusk she finds her resting place and looks out over the lands. Weary from her battles she feels the reassurance of her celtic tribe, her clan, and the familiar smell of lillies that reminds her...this is home.

I created this using watercolour, coloured pencils, inks and gouache

I love the feet! It's always been one of my banes in figure studies you did a great job or shaping and shading them bravo! =)

Well done! her hands and feet are unbelievably good. the only thing i don't really like is that her expression doesn't seem to match the pink flowers on her head and face.

3 Toni C Cogdell replies: "Thank you 2 It's interesting you should say that - I like my paintings to throw a little contradiction in, for them to have an edge to them. This is a good example of that, Celtic Moon is at one with nature and lives amongst lilies, but she also is a warrior of sorts and her waters run deep - hence the intense, dark expression. "

A nice and well done pic. I really like the colors and that hand is very well rendered as well as the foot under her. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the big toe on her left foot. Other than that this piece is beautiful.

Lovely composition. The posture is good and well structured, and the image fills every zone in the canvas. Too many artists put their “people” into positions that are anatomically impossible and it’s a little irksome in my mind. I love the knot work and her clothing, as well. I think that the only thing that I might have done differently, were in my piece, would be to give her less eye makeup. Everything else about her is very simple and the heavy makeup is at odds with that, but I noticed from a previous comment that you like to make things that contrast and are not what people would normally consider, so, if that’s what you meant to do, then you succeeded. Over all, it’s beautiful!
