Just a random thing that came to me whilst I was writing my Celtic myth, despite that the only way they connect is that they're myths!

In the beginning, there was nothing, not even a vast blackness, for that would have been something. There was, nothing.
It was the nothingness we experience when we sit in a lit but silent room with our eyes closed. From the nothingness a spark was formed, and that spark was the Mother. The spark grew brighter and Mother was light. She became the bright burning sun which watches over all and helps cause life. She sent away several tiny sparks, which became the stars you can see in the clear night sky.

She sent another fragment of her light away from her and that was the world. It solidified to form a great ball of burning rock. The rock cooled as it sat away from her great heat, and she carefully melted the top of the rock to create the damp, moist soil. More extreme heat created water from the rock.
So the seas and earth were formed.
She sent another spark down into the soil and infused it with shimmering life. Her light and heat, combined with the water she created, helped the life to grow from the soils and in the water. Greenery and plants were sprouted from the wastelands. So life began.

Over time she wished for more diversity in her green and blooming world, and to witness others enjoy her garden as she did. So another spark was sent to the world and animals began to grow. First only small creatures, who ate the greenery and the plants.
Upset by the desecration of her garden, the Mother sent another spark down into the world, which created larger animals to control the smaller ones. The larger animals ate the smaller animals, and she was sad, and wept for their deaths. So rain fell on the world, and renewed the plants and water. Yet from her sadness the food chain grew.

As she moulded her world, creating mountains, lakes, valleys, volcanoes and other natural beauties, the animals changed with the land, and adapted to suit the areas they lived upon.

Very interesting. It was short yet vivid in my mind... I could almost see it.

A bit rambling at the beginning, pet.

21 Ashley Jane Brodie replies: "  The day you give me a positive comment in regards to my writing will be the day hell freezes over. Anyhoo, try reading all the creation stuff in the Bible. Or 'The Silmarillion' by Tolkien. In comparison to them, mine is concise!"

I don't think ur myth is true. in contrast, i believe the Bible because it makes more sense then just nothingness becomes something. i believe that there's a supernatural being that created earth- even if u dont

:-) Ashley Jane Brodie replies: "*Sigh*
Right. Two things. Number one, of course it's not true, that's why it's called a 'myth' and found within a FICTION archive. Number two, fiction doesn't always necessarily reflect the author's personal beliefs. Saying you believe one thing, 'even if u dont' based on a piece of fiction is unnecessarily aggressive and frankly ludicrous. My personal beliefs are actually very different to this piece of prose, and even if they weren't, why would I care if you disagree? I don't know you.
I suppose your downright contradiction of yourself is kind of endearing. You believe the Bible because you think there was a deity that created the world, but you don't believe that something was created out of nothing. Read Genesis sweety, that's precisely what it says that the Christian 'God' did. Read my piece again carefully, you may note the inclusion of a 'Mother' figure, who is actually the supernatural being my myth is based around. 'She' created everything, because 'She' is my myth's version of a deity. 'She' is made of the nothingness, therefore 'She' was a part of and existed through the nothingness. 'She' is, and always will be, everything. That is the concept of the piece.Thank you for taking time to comment, but please try to read a text more carefully in the future before you decide to share a half-formed opinion."
