SciFi and Fantasy Art Starbase GS-5 by Sam ´AcidK´ Read


	A litte background on this picture: It is a starbase inside the Besilon Belt that is used mainly as a frontier defence system. Housing over 50 Pro-Tex starfighters, GS-5 was capable of defending from nearly anything, even a comet. After a while it also became a popular tourist site and, later, a holiday resort, swapping its weapons and hangers for accomadation and luxuries. Made with Bryce 5.

22 Aug 2002	Aaron Weaver	Loading... Looks cool for a start. These are probably style comments so ignore them if you want. The picture seems empty. If the picture was when the base was military, we should fighters patrolling, gun turrets all over the base, maybe an open hangar. If its when the base became a tourist spot, should see tour ships flying around. The base should have lots of big windows so the tourists can look out. Maybe some neon lights for advertisements. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "I know it's a bit bleak but I'm rebuilding some of these pictures to get more detail in. This picture was only a ten minute job, only slightly longer than the Artille's Courrier picture so bear with it for the time it took."

Nice picture and you have already mentioned that you were working on improving the detail in this as it was only a quick picture, but I feel as though the asteroid's in the picture are a little too smooth and need a little tweaking. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: " Yeah, I know... But trying to make asteroids look like proper asteroids takes a lot of time, not to mention the five hours of rendering I have to endure for a 'quick' renderAnyway, the picture is coming along nicely, will take me a few more weeks to complete, possibly another few weeks to render."
22 Oct 2004	Matt 'Bunto the Hut' Bunton	Loading... What the hell is all the psychobabble up the top about?! Looks like a Space restaurant. Mmmm...could go for some Ewok burgers right now... But about the picture..interesting yes, 3Dness kicks, All up 8/10 because I have no idea whats going on...thats what my art teacher does...damned hippie. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "I write stories when I am bored and have done a lot of forum RPGs regarding the pictures on my page. So babble is what I do"
