Morgan and his captive queen, whom he calls Nimri (meaning wild or beautiful light, such as in a sunset or sunrise). He took her as an act of war against her people, and as a means of learning and communicating with the enemy, but after a few months of dragging her around the wilderness with him, he's...starting to grow rather fond of her. She fascinates him. Nimri's every bit as wild and spirited as he is, and I begin to wonder just who is the real captive now. ^__^;;
Around 45 hours spent on this one (I am so sick of fur and shadowy thorns and tatters), maybe longer if you count how many times I had to redraw his face. His expression leaves me in disbelief. It's...it's almost a smile. For once, he doesn't look like he's going to mangle everything in sight. o_0;; Messed with the final scan in Photoshop to improve contrast and lighting, but it's mostly pencil and a blending stick.
Characters copyright myself and Kelly Kilbourn.
Sketch version and prints available on my website.
