"Nympheas" by Adele Lorienne

Nympheas, a unique character I have struggled to draw for over six months now. She belongs to Wictoria, and usually wears a mask, which you can see in her DA gallery. Nympheas is blind, although she can "see" through other senses that the mask normally enhances. The image of the forest that she holds is suggestive of her journey to discover the cause of humankind's genetic decay (and eventual blindness) in the future--that it was perhaps a neglect of preserving something in nature that caused such a decline.

I went with an art nouveau style (ala Mucha) because I really wanted to play with Nympheas' gorgeously insane pile of hair. All my detail work and the rich colors in this may look terribly washed out on your monitor, though... *sigh* The differences in monitors makes me want to remain strictly a print artist and not post my colored work online at all. x_X;
