And you should definitely pour them out in this way often. Jeroen Admiraal replies: "So have you, my friend. I really appreciate your comment and I shall continue to make pictures as long as I need it, or as people will like them." | |
| 7 Dec 2004 | Michelle 'dragonmajik' Mayo | Loading...I really enjoy the narrative aspect of this piece and the depth of the image, and it's made so much stronger with your excellent description. Poor old man stuck out on the bit of island! Excellent use of the repetitive shapes, too - these vertical bits of land and the vertical nature of the creature in the water... it works nicely This drawing definitely makes better use of values and lines than several other pictures. Perhaps it's a different mind-set you use to approach a landscape composition as compared to character illustrations, I noticed your other landscapes make great use of atmospheric perspective. I think you could take this technique and apply it in a lot of different ways if you chose to do so The one thing that might need fixing in a similar setting are the water ripples, and I don't mean the technique you used. It's just that the ripples around the island in the background are rendered in an almost identical fashion to those ripples in the foreground, and that kind of looses a bit of the depth. Maybe just omitting the clear ripple details in the background could fix that, and allow the foreground to tell the viewer we're looking at water. Jeroen Admiraal replies: "I am making up stories around my picture more often lately because I notice that it really adds to the package that you give the viewer, and people like it!I had a lot of trouble with the water and I just didn't know how to draw it. At last, I made the familiar ripples but I wanted to do a lot more with reflection and the splashing for the creature's tail. It just doesn't look very natural. Anyway, thank you for your comment!" | |

Da's geweldig wat jij kunt tekenen. Echt supermooi, met nog een kort en pakkend verhaal erbij ook.
Mijn complimenten; en zoals Berry Stevens altijd zei: "Vooral doorgaan"
